I have a networking problem. Have been successfully networking for months now and all of a sudden cant?

I dont know why but my computer wont access the host anymore. I successfully have restored to an earlier time (twice now) but my networking keeps dropping out.

Now I cant even do a restore to make it work. I havent changed any of my settings but for some reason it just wont work.

Can anybody help? thanks

You have some virus that is messing with your networking. You restore the system and it resets the network connection, but doesn't really fix the problem. System restore seldom really works and even when it does you can do it by hand faster. System restore also will restore a virus.

Scan for free http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Run your virus scan ( http://free.grissoft.com if you don't have one )

Scan with AdAware and SpyBOT - free- www.download.com has both.

You might need to rebuild the TCP stack and completly reset the networking after you get rid of whatever is causing the problem this tool does it all for you, just one restart. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfi...

Good luck.
Reply:reset the entire system..and reset ips..
Reply:re install ur modem drivers from disc
Reply:Try connecting directly to the internet via the modem. If you can, then the trouble is with the network. If you are using a wireless system then you have to reset and reload all the values for the wireless modem/router. If you are using a wired system try repairing the connection via the windows section on "view all network connection" Don't do a restore as your problem is not there. Good luck.
