Problem Networking lan and wireless computers?

I have two computers that I want to network. I have a modem and wireless router. One of the computers connects directly to the wireless router via lan. The other has a wireless card and connects that way. No matter what I've done, I have not been able to share files between the two computers. I have very little knowledge about networking and would like some help.

Problem Networking lan and wireless computers?
Right click the my computer icon and click computer name and see if they are on the same workgroup name if they are different you can't But you can change the workgroup (so both are the same) name to make both the same thing then you have to right click the folder you want to share and go to sharing and security then share the folder on the network then you should be set...Thanks
Reply:Make sure you can connect to the internet if you have internet access.

You first need to share a folder:

Sharing a Folder

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

2. Right-click the appropriate folder (for example, Accounts Receivable), and then click Sharing.

3. In the folder's properties, click Share this folder. Use the default name for the share.

Make sure the two computers have the same work group:

1. right click my computer icon, point to properties, point to computer name, click change button where it says change name or network domain. work group name should be listed in the dialogue box.

Make sure the computers are on the same network. Your router should automatically assign addreses if not.

1. Click on start, point to run, type cmd, type in black box ipconfig /all. Check the where it says ip address ex. 192.168.1.10. If it is like the above address the last octet or last column of numbers seperated by dots should be the only one that is different.

Check to see if the file and print sharing is listed in the network connection.

1. Start, control panel, network connections, Local area network connection, check to see if file and print sharing is located in the dialogue box.

2. if not click install, service, file and print sharing.

The only problem that could exist now is if there are firewall issues you may need to make and exception, or just disable the firewall all together.

Pretty straight forward if you follow the prescribed steps. try typing in the address in internet Explorer associated with the computer name of the computer wanting to connect to \\computername\share or instead type \\ipaddress\share of computer.
Reply:Have you opened up your files to the other computer?

Go to a file, share it only with the other on your network :0)
