Networking sites and job applications?

Do you know anyone who has searched on a networking site such as myspace or Facebook after having received a job application from someone?


Do you think it would be ethical to use this information to judge their character?


I just wondered if anyone had experienced this either as an employer or applicant?

CV checking companies include Facebook and Myspace searches in the work they do for companies in vetting candidates. There have been incidences of individuals losing their jobs after it's been revealed via Facebook that instead of being ill they were actually partying.





Any information you put on social networking sites should be relatively circumspect.
